Charging guide

How to pay for a charging session and start it from your phone. You don't need an account or an app.

Step by step

Find the QR code
Look for the QR code sticker on the charger or on the connector holder.
Scan it with your phone camera
A secure page opens in your browser. There's nothing to install. Before you enter any details, check that the address bar shows charge.fday.io. If it doesn't, stop and tell the site operator.
Choose your connector
If the charger has more than one connector, select the one you'll plug into.
Set your cost limit
Enter the maximum you want to spend on this session. Before you pay, the page shows the allowed range and a summary of the costs. Chargers with a fixed session price skip this step.
Enter your email and card
Your card gets a temporary hold, not a charge, and you pay only what the session costs. Your email is required, because that's where we send your receipt.
Plug in
Connect the cable to your vehicle. Charging starts automatically once the charger detects it.
Unplug when you're done
The session also ends when your battery is full or your cost limit is reached. We email your receipt and release the rest of the hold.

Common questions

The charger says it's offline

Don't try to charge here. Tell the site operator, and use another charger if there is one.

The connector shows as unavailable

Someone is using it, or the previous session is still ending. Choose another connector or charger.

I see a “Wrong connector detected” message

A cable was plugged into a different connector from the one you selected. If it was you, confirm on your phone and your session moves to that connector. If it was another driver, dismiss the message.

Why is the hold on my card more than the session cost?

A hold isn't a payment. You pay only what the session costs, and the rest of the hold is released automatically. Your bank may take a few days to make that money available again.

How do I get my receipt?

We email it to the address you entered when the session ends.

The session won't start

Unplug the cable and plug it in again. If the session doesn't start, you won't be billed.
